Namibia is a country in southwest Africa with 2.1 million inhabitants. The republic has a coastline with the Atlantic Ocean in the west. Neighboring countries are Angola, Zambia, Botswana and South Africa. The rivers of the Kunene, the Okavango and Zambezi forms the border with Angola and Zambia. The Orange River forms the border with South Africa. Another important river is the Nossob. Kalahari desert is located in the east. The Namib desert with red sand dunes lies on the coastline. In the northwest is savanna landscape. In between lies a mountain plateau. There is a desert climate. The capital Windhoek has 240,000 inhabitants. Places are the Trans Namib Transport Museum, the German colonial buildings, the parliament building, the Palast Hues, the castle Alte Fest and the Christ Church, which is built entirely from sandstone. Other major cities are Keetman Hope, Lüderitz, Rehoboth, Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. At the World Heritage list of UNESCO, the water in Damaraland, the Twyfelfontein. Other attractions are the big five, the Himba's Etosha National Park, Waterberg Plateau Park, the Fish River Canyon, port of Walvis Bay, Cape Cross with his fur seal, the Skeletons Coast, the Welwitschia, the Playground of the Giants and Koolmanskop.
