Botswana is a country in southern Africa with almost 2 million inhabitants. Neighboring countries are Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The landscape is largely determined by arid high plains. The Kalahari desert dominates the landscape in the south and west. In the northwest lie the fertile wetlands of the Okavango delta. Furthermore, plains, hilly areas and rock concentrations. There is a subtropical climate. Local sometimes desert or savannah climate. The capital Gaborone has 210,000 inhabitants. A point of interest is the National Museum & Art Gallery. Other cities are Francistown, Lobatse, Maun, Mochudi, Serowe, Ramotswa, Selebi-Phikwe, Palapye, Jwaneng and Mahalapye. On UNESCO's World Heritage List is the archaeological site at Tsodilo, with more than 4,500 rock drawings. Other places of interest include the Moremi Game Reserve, Chobe Game Reserve, Central Kgalagadi Reserve, Khutse Game Reserve and Trans-Frontier National Park. Furthermore the Okavango delta, the Makgadikgadi salt pans, the Limpopo valley and Tsodilo hills.
