Congo-Kinshasa (Congo) is the full name of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). It is a country in Central Africa with around 66½ million inhabitants. Neighboring countries are Angola, Congo, the Central African Republic, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Zambia. The former Zaire has a short coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. Northwestern lies the Congo basin. Furthermore, many mountains and rivers. Eastern lakes, including Lake Tanganyika. In the republic it grows second largest rainforest in the world. Furthermore, the landscape is determined by forest and grass savanna. There is a tropical climate. It is always moist and warm. Capital Kinshasa has 7½ million inhabitants. Places of interest include the Grand Marché, the tomb of former President Laurent Kabila, the Bonobo reserve and the academy of fine arts. Other cities include Bandundu, Kindu, Matadi, Lubumbashi, Mbandaka, Kananga, Kisangani and Mbuji-Mayi. The UNESCO World Heritage Site includes the Okapi Wildlife Park and the Virunga, Kahuzi Biega, Garamba and Salonga National Parks. Other attractions are the Livingstone Waterfalls, the Ituri forest and the pygmies.
