Zambia is a country in South Africa with 11.6 million inhabitants. Neighboring countries are Namibia, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The landscape consists largely of undulating plateaus of 1000 meters height. The lowest parts are in west Zambia. There are many rivers and lakes in Zambia. The largest are the Zambezi River, the Congo River, the Bangweulu Lake, the Tanganyika Lake and the artificial Kariba Lake. the landscape consists of savannas, steppes, rain forests and swamp areas. There is a temperate climate. The capital Lusaka has 1.3 million inhabitants. Sights are the Zintu Community Museum, the Kalimba reptile park, the Kamwala market and the many galleries. Other cities are Chipata, Kabwe, Kasama, Livingstone, Mansa, Mongu, Mufulira, Ndola and Solwezi. The waterfalls of Victoria are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Other places of interest are the thirteen national parks, the traditional village of Mukuni and its Leya people, Bangwelu swamps, Ndola and the animal orphanage of Chimfunshi.
