Zimbabwe is a country in South Africa with 12.4 million inhabitants. Neighboring countries are Botswana, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa. The landscape is dominated by a centrally located ridge, consisting of (from north to south) the Mvurwi mountain range, the Mashava hills and the Matopo mountain range. The river basin areas are located on both sides of the ridge. The Zambezi in the north and the Limpopo and Save rivers flow southeast. About 20% of the country is covered with afforestation. There is a tropical climate. The capital Harare has 1.6 million inhabitants. Sights are the city center, the public gardens, the National Museum of Modern Art, the MacGregor geological museum, the Anglican cathedral, the Chapungu kraal and Cecil square. Other cities are Bulawayo, Mutare, Beitbridge, Bindura, Marondera, Kwekwe, Chinhoyi, Masvingo city, Lupane, Gwanda and Gweru. The UNESCO World Heritage Site includes the Victoria Falls, the Matobo Hills, the National Monuments of Great Zimbabwe and Khami, the Mana-Polish National Park and the Sapi and Chewore Safari Areas. Other attractions are the nocturnal safaris in Matetsi, the wild dogs, the many national parks, the artists' village of Tengenenge and Lake Kariba.
